The ESEFA project under the academic guidance of Professor Klaus Turowski has the objective to promote young professionals in the African IT sector. The focus here is on the Enterprise Systems education of students at several partner universities in sub-Saharan Africa. To meet the students‘ regional educational needs a fully integrated curriculum was developed, which is being continuously evaluated and adapted. With the Zambian bicycle manufacturer Zambikes seeking sustainable production methods with bamboo not only a local project partner could be acquired but also a model company in view of the practical implementation of the learning content. Particularly with regard to the cooperation with Zambikes the project is increasingly being perceived by the media. Thus, the Magdeburger Volksstimme reported on 25 April 2015 on the visions and objectives of ESEFA. The article introduces the reader to information on the background, the team and partners of the project as well as to its relevance for the economic sector in sub-Saharan Africa.
