Matthias Volk studierte Wirtschaftsinformatik an der Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg und erlangte Anfang 2016 einen Master-Abschluss an der Fakultät für Informatik. Seit diesem Zeitpunkt unterstützt Herr Volk als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter die Arbeitsgruppe Wirtschaftsinformatik bei dem er parallel seine Promotion verfolgt. Praktische Erfahrungen konnte Herr Volk bereits während seines Studiums als Softwareentwickler in verschiedenen Unternehmen, wie beispielsweise der Volkswagen AG, sammeln. Während der Zeit seiner wissenschaftlichen Karriere nahm er zudem an zahlreichen internationalen und wissenschaftlichen Kongressen und Projekten teil, bei denen er nicht nur als Redner und Rezensent, sondern auch als Sitzungsleiter wirkte. Sein Forschungsinteresse liegt vor allem im Bereich von daten-intensiven Systemen, verwandten Projekte und Technologien, sowie deren Management.
